Recently Simon and I had our wedding reception at the Dodo Restaurant at Durrell Zoo. It was the most amazing day - it really was everything we had hoped for. Ashley, the manager was so helpful throughout the whole process from the booking and organisation right through to gone midnight on our big day. Nothing was too much for him and his team. We’d happily recommend the Zoo to anyone who wants a really unique day.

Animals are amusing especially the gorillas and the orangutan's a good day out , pleasant cafeteria selection of gateaux to eat in , disabled toilets have easy access. A net should be installed over cafe Firefly outdoor seating area as seagulls are swooping down on tables not pleasant when people are trying to eat and drink.

Beautiful grounds. Very knowledgeable staff. Keepers talks go on throughout the day and are well worth attending for an insight into the animals and the work being done. These are all endangered species. Cafe offers varied menu at reasonable prices.

Legendary place!
The zoo is not huge in terms of number of animals. But it's spacious and every single habitant looks healthy and active. Even turtles and reptiles! In most other zoos they are drowzy.
Keeper talks about the animals are great source of knowledge and sweet details. We managed to hear two of them in monkey area.
Even on a rainy day our visit was pure pleasure.

We had a wonderful visit to the zoo. Different animals to see and very well looked after. The zoo was updating some of the enclosures to improve their welfare. Transport to the zoo is available and tickets are reasonable priced. Great café facilities with choice of food. There's a great shop which has pocket money items too.

An excellent Zoo, especially for primates. Strong links to Madagascar so a very good selection of lemurs, including Aye-Ayes.

The cafe has good food at reasonable prices.

The zoo was shabby..noticed a few ground workers looking idle !! The cafe was also run along the same lines...a very overloaded gift shop seemed to be the main attraction
