Really enjoyed the talks given by the various keepers. Very informative and their enthusiasm was infectious. The grounds were well kept offering plenty of seats to observe the animals. The café had a lovely selection of snacks and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Many interesting creatures, each there for the benefit of their species rather than for human benefit, yet very family-friendly and lots of space to walk fascinate relax eat.

One of the largest zoo I've been to with conservation in mind. Watched the video of conservation around the world. Allow at least 4 hours if you are not going to rush through. Lots of play areas for children. Still worth a visit in the rain. It was raining today.

If you like the Durrell series this is the zoo Gerald Durrell built up. Lots of spacious enclosures and information on the Durrell. Bus runs to zoo and back to town
