Great zoo, went in summer holidays and was not too busy, did not have to queue at all and the park is big enough that people are spread apart and the zoo feels quiet. There is a huge range of fascinating animals and other displays to look at. The zoo feels like a nice environment as well due to the fact the main aim of the business is conservation of endangered species so you are supporting a good cause by paying to visit. There is also a nice cafe and shop.

Surely one of the best zoos/conservation centres in the world. Beautifully landscaped, thoughtfully laid out - an inspirational place to visit. I’ve been several times and it always reveals new delights. I can’t rate Jersey Zoo highly enough.
The children love it, going round with the map, seeing the monkeys, orangutans, flamingos, snakes, butterflies…the list goes on….and I love that beautiful little hidden orchard.
The Café serves a wide variety of food (chips slightly too salty for my taste-sorry!) and all of the cafe staff were very helpful.
The shop at the end and the charity shop are well-presented & tidy. The welcoming staff too are lovely and, well, welcoming!
It’s very moving to visit a place like this, to see the love and care that go into all aspects of its upkeep. It’s a true Jersey gem and I look forward to many return visits as our children grow up.

Spent a great day exploring the zoo and learning about Gerald Durrell's work. Loved seeing the animals and especially enjoyed chatting with one of the volunteers who told us all about the gorillas as well as other information on the zoo and Jersey life; everyone was really helpful and friendly. As a wheelchair user the zoo was mostly accessible with just a couple of inclines to tackle. Well worth a visit.

an amazing zoo that really cares for the animals, focused on the animal conservation more than publicity which is great! would love to return - especially to see the orangutangs

Had a great day at the Zoo. Loved that the animals enclosures were large (even if that meant they were difficult to spot) so they had a lot of nature to roam in. Great to learn about the different animals and their habits. Viewing the gorillas was quite tricky as the wall is so high so this might be a challenge for children. I saw one boy climbing up on the wall before his parents pulled him back. Maybe some perspex would be good at a lower height so shorter people can see. Great food in the cafe too. Definitely recommended.

A must do visit for the mrs cos she liked the Durrells. Dont know if it was the weather, it was warm or the time but had to search for most species. Our companion needed a wheelchair but they only had push chairs and its hilly in places and bumpy. So book an electric one in advance. I pushed it round and was rather damp at the end.
4 stars might be a stretch but the Mrs insisted.

We were disappointed that such a famous zoo had so few animals to actually see. We realise that animals like to shelter and sleep, but the enclosures are so big and leafy that it is hard to spot anything unless it is indoors.

The zoo has a wide range of animals, with a couple of cafés and zoo keepers dotted around. There are a few opportunities to see zoo keepers do talks and guides on the different animals. One or two of the animals also have a food dispensary place where you can leave money and take food to give to them. There are also experiences you can have with the animals where you get to be in closer quarters with them and in some get to feed ones you otherwise don't get the chance to.

You need to time your visit as, many animals in enclosures or hiding from the sun in hot weather. Good facilities and large, well adapted enclosures, educational and many endangered species.
