What is Chinese Herbal Medicine?

Chinese Herbal Medicine is an integral part of the practice of Chinese Medicine that looks at the body as a balance between the opposite energies of Yin and Yang. It is a way to maintain a well-balanced immune system, which is the holistic healing mechanism.

Chinese Medicine is a practical path to optimum health that is achieved by treating the patient as a whole and by treating the causes not just the symptoms. Chinese herbal medicine has been used over four thousand years; it has been proven to be effective and safe. It is particularly effective in:

  • building up organ functions
  • strengthening body energy
  • increasing circulation.

As a result of the improved function, strength and circulation, various symptoms will often start to disappear.  Chinese Herbal Medicine has achieved great results when dealing with conditions such as, for example:

  • skin disorders
  • stress
  • depression
  • irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • menopause
  • infertility
  • asthma
  • sexual problems
  • Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • low energy, etc.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a holistic approach to the management of diseases as well as the maintenance of health. It is a system of healing which has been practised in China for thousands of years. Acupuncture is widely used in Oriental countries such as Japan and Korea for the treatment of all types of diseases as well as maintaining general health. The primary function of Acupuncture is to improve the overall feeling of well-being in the patient rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms.

Although Acupuncture is relatively new to the general public, it has been used by the Royal families for long time. Research carried in the West in recent years has shown Acupuncture to be effective in the treatment of different ailments and conditions, such as:

  • pains
  • stress
  • menopause
  • infertility problems.

In the case of infertility, research has shown that Acupuncture has been very helpful with:

  • regulating hormonal imbalances
  • reducing stress and anxiety
  • thickened endometrium (by increasing uterine blood flow).
