The annual Burbage Carnival has grown massively in recent years in both its size and the reputation that it has as a quality event for all the family. The organization of such an event actually takes the team members around nine months and so a lot of people are already very busy getting ready for the next event that will take place on the 19th June 2011.

The chosen theme for the 2011 event, suggested by you (the visitors and supporters) via our website is going to be ‘Television through the ages’. Carnival Secretary - Mrs. Margaret Little, said “This is a fantastic theme, and we can’t wait to see some of the great ideas people within the community have for 2011”.

As we have in the past, the committee is on the search for a new logo for the Burbage carnival 2011. The only fixed part of the logo is that it should convey the Burbage Carnival’s primary aim and that is to represent its charity fundraising efforts.

To find this new logo there is a competition running now with a prize for the winning entry and the esteemed honor of having your design seen by tens of thousands of people during the Burbage Carnival 2011. Please note that the closing date for this competition is now soon - All entries must be returned by 16th Jan 2011, to the Burbage Carnival Logo Competition, 46 Mount Road, Hinckley, LE10 1AF.

There is a downloadable application form on our website - please visit www.burbagecarnival.co.uk

If you would like to find more about the workings of the charitable group – the Burbage Carnival Committee, there is a public meeting on the 3rd of February 2011, at the photography studios of Christina Lauder Portraits (www.christinalauderportraits.com) in Burbage. Everyone is very welcome to attend; Chairman Mr. Harvey Brown, said “The earliest known Burbage Carnival dates back to 1928 and it has, over the years, become known for being a really great day out for friends and family. Anyone wishing to create a float, or run a stall, can now download the application forms from our website. We welcome involvement and would really like to see as many people as possible at our meeting on the 3rd February 2011”.

If you would like to find out more about the Burbage Carnival then do please contact the Burbage Carnival Committee, Harvey Brown (Public Relations Officer) on 07885237372 or visit the Carnival website for further details and application forms.

/55d11a12-be68-463c-ac0b-f59224f9433c.jpg
