Lunch at the Axe

Once again the Axe & Compass Inn and Restaurant, Wolvey, near Hinckley didn’t disappoint when it came to taking time out with the family for a tasty lunchtime treat.  There were quiet a few other diners partaking of the gastronomic delights of the Axe (always surprising isn’t it, you think that just because you don’t go out at lunch time no one else does) but still room enough to find a quiet corner.  Did notice that there were a few lunchtime business meetings taking place – make a note for the diary ‘next business lunch will be at the Axe’.

Need to make a second note in the diary though to keep the business lunch light because having succumbed to a favourite – liver and bacon in a rich red wine and tomato gravy, the eyes were a bit sleepy in the afternoon!  That’s what makes the Axe & Compass so good though because they have such an extensive menu for all tastes and occasions but great value too.

Thank you Bob for yet another lovely lunch and by the way we do think that your Christmas Fayre menus look really good value and offer such a good selection of dishes in addition to the traditional.  Having a cheese option as a choice on the deserts section of the menu is an inspiration.  However, more about the options to dine over Christmas on another blog article very soon.  Can assure you though that from the information we are now gathering together, you really are going to be spoilt for choice from our bestofhinckley restaurants this year.

Take note though that if you are thinking of your office Christmas party or lunch already then get booking now because all our bestof businesses are telling us that they have already had a good response with bookings for the Christmas period!
