Ware Poets are delighted to welcome Patience Agbabi as our guest poet.
Patience is a dynamic and award-winning poet and novelist. She has written 4 poetry collections, performed all over the world, and taught Creative Writing from primary to PhD level. Her poem 'Eat Me' features on the Edexcel 'A' level curriculum.
The evening will start will an open mic session, so please feel free to bring and read a poem, followed by a reading by Patience.
Everyone is welcome - whether to read a poem or to enjoy listening. Bar available.
Patience's visit is part of a Ware Poets collaboration with Presdales and Chauncy Schools, and we are very grateful for the support of Ware Town Council.
The evening is also part of Arts in East Herts, showcasing cultural activities in the local area.
Ware Poets host monthly poetry evenings at Southern Maltings in Ware - open mic for the first half, followed by a guest poet reading. Everyone always welcome - whether to read a poem or to enjoy listening. Friendly atmosphere. Bar available.
We also organise a highly regarded annual poetry competition and enjoy running poetry events in the community.
