A Fairytale for Grown Ups : The Grateful and the Dead

Step into the magical ambience of the Chieftain Roundhouse for a spellbinding evening of myth and magic, as world-renowned storyteller Ben Haggarty lures you into the richly metaphorical world of a full-blooded fairytale for grown-ups.

Dark, beautiful, and startling by turn, this is a story for Samhain, the turning of the year. Full of dreams, initiations, and the repayment of debts – it is a journey from innocence to experience, into a disconcertingly familiar yet transformative landscape, complete with bizarre marriages and strange companions.

With infectious charm and ease, Ben performs fiercely, fast-paced, and unashamedly magical. This is a place where rules aren’t broken lightly…

Having been trained in mime, and in theatre direction at East 15, Ben Haggarty is one of the UK’s most popular contemporary storytellers, renowned for his passionate and physical performances. He has toured widely, been a guest artist in over 100 International Storytelling Festivals in 25 countries and was for 10 years the official storyteller with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble.

This is storytelling as it was meant to be heard—live, immersive and unforgettable.

Come early to explore the woodland and enjoy pre-event and interval refreshments at the licensed Woodland Bistro before the performance.

Content: This performance may contain descriptions of violence, threat, war, murder, mutilation, death and grief, contextualised within a paradigm of mythic narrative, archetype and metaphor.

Limited tickets available at £15 each. This is an intimate, one-night event – secure your ticket today!
