Went to see ballet Nutcracker. Ballet very good indeed despite small stage. BUT, the seats are disgusting. My friends seat had no arm cover left on one arm and she found after we had left that her coat had been torn by wood splinter.
Glasses (plastic) all over the floor, no leg room and I am only 5'2".
The whole place is in need of renovation. Prices are high for such a poor venue.
I have lived in Hastings all my life and the Pavilion was wonderful with great acoustics before they removed the back walls. Seats were substantial and comfortable and the place was clean. We saw so many plays and musicals plus of course the yearly Scout Show which I am now told will not be on this year as the new company running WRT do not want to put it on! How many years has this been part of the town. I remember going to their 50th. Shame on you

Wonderful show, me and my friend had a brilliant evening! Well worth seeing and a special thanks to the drummer Philip he helped 2 old ladies out with these ringo parking things that we don’t understand at all!!

Took my sister and her husband to the Panto on 31st. Panto was ok but it’s time to get a new star of the show…the same guy every year is getting boring. The two sisters were screeching so much, one of them you couldn’t actually hear what she was saying. The fairy godmother saved the day thank goodness.

I’d been trying to contact the theatre for two weeks to get the running time. It wasn’t on the website, when you call the number it doesn’t go to the theatre, it goes to the ticket sales company. They have an option for the running time but when you press the option it says go to the theatre website. I’d also sent two emails to the theatre directly and no reply.

The price of the sweets was appalling. Same price as london theatres. £4 for a small packet of sweets and £3.80 for a bottle of sprite. The staff (yes I know they are volunteers) had no idea how to deal with it when I changed my mind and bought two bags of sweets as there was an offer for 2 and I had already paid for one. It took three people just to sort out how to change it. In the row behind us was a group who had bought in a huge shopping bag of drinks , crisps and alcohol. If the prices were more competitive there would be no need to.

The toilets were absolutely disgusting. They had definitely not been cleaned properly between performances. The walls in the cubicles were so yukky it’s hard to describe.

This venue has always been very poorly managed. It’s not rocket science and it takes the same effort to do a good job as it does to do a bad job. I really hope the new company taking over will get a grip on things.

I don’t meat to lose this venue but it isn’t going to attract people happy to pay a bit more,if it is run so badly.

Came here for Panto (Cinderella),it was a very good performance by the usual cast. We sat on the first row of the circle. I was apprehensive after reading reviews on here about lack of leg room, but I am 6ft and to be honest it was fine, it's an old theatre and the seats are representative of an old setup. I have posted a picture of the leg room for context, but if you're really tall, you can easily cross your legs under one another.

Overall it was a good experience and I would highly recommend the circle for better views. We sat in the stalls the year prior, and my daughter could hardly see. She loved it this year. Well done to the cast and crew!

Went to the panto, have been every year but December 2023's is poor. Very slow start, too much talking not enough action for kids. The direction and choreography is amateurish, saw better recently in Bexhill by a local stage school. Not up to its usual standard.

Went to see The Mousetrap. Very good.
We were in the upper circle but the seats are dreadfully cramped and really uncomfortable.
I'm only 5ft 2" so the other people with us were really struggling. No good for large or tall people.
I would think twice about going to the White rock again.
It's a pity the seating cannot be made more friendly.

The proclaimers Sunday 14th May. 11 friends booked it was a good night. Facilities at the theatre were fab not too crowded to get a drink at the bar..which was in desperate need of after hearing the support act. Bit depressing and tuneless sadly 😥. Luckily the main event was fabulous.

Theatre is impressive from outside but felt a little smaller inside than expected, however that meant it had a far more intimate feeling. It's an old theatre and the only negative is the seats are a little uncomfortable. That aside, the sound for the comedy act we saw was spot on. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We pre ordered interval drinks /snacks and these were delivered to our seat - great service! We've already booked another act and will be back next year!

We were in Hastings on holiday. You cannot miss the theatre as it is right on the seafront. There is certainly some interesting acts coming, but there was nothing that took our fancy when we were in town. So why review the place?
The woman at the box office was simply super. She informed us about the venue, but also various local pubs offering live music. She also told us about the De La Warr in nearby Bexhill, which we would probably never have known about otherwise. People like her can contribute so much to visitors' experience. Thank you.

Visited White Rock Theatre tonight to watch Vortice Dracula. The venue itself was clean and comfortable; the staff were very friendly and approachable and the performance itself was utterly mesmerising. I can honestly say it was the most captivating interpretation and visually exciting rendition I have seen in many years. A thoroughly enjoyable experience tonight. Many thanks to the Vortice dancers and White Rock Theatre for hosting such a brilliant evening.

Hi,
My friend and I attended a show at the White Rock Theatre this evening (Saturday 9th April).
We were lucky enough to meet a lovely lady called Jane. Jane is one of the front of house members of staff, he was working in the circle bar this evening. I and my friend found Jane to be a very caring and friendly member of staff, nothing was too much trouble for her, she went out of her way to make our evening very pleasant.

We would like to say a hugh thank you to Jane for making our evening so lovely.

Thank you Jane.

The booking system was clear and easy, with great follow-up communication. The show - Josh Widdicombe's 'Bit Much' tour, was awesome, with a great support act, too; and we were delighted to see Waterstones selling his signed autobiography - so lovely to see an active affiliation with another company.
All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional at all times; the venue was well laid out and provided a good selection of refreshment types. I would have given a higher score, except for the sweet selection being by such an unethical company (Nestle), in terms of its produce and production, and its affiliated actions, and so we didn't buy any sweet things as there was no other choice of company. It would be great to have Fairtrade goods, locally sourced, even, to meet the needs of conscientious consumers. And I agree with other reviews that the prices were extra extortionate - paying a premium is one thing, but this pricing is just greedy.

Sadly closed indefinitely at present, like other entertainment venues, but when it's open, it puts on some fantastic shows, great comedy and music, lovely bar and café, and a really welcoming atmosphere.
