We stayed at this hotel , just prior to the Dec 20 lockdown a week before Christmas . The staff who absolutely superb , they were very accommodating and the food was very good . The staff helped make our stay comfortable and we were well recuperated each night . They were so apologetic as the hotel had to shut due to lockdown ... we entirely understood that it was beyond their control. We will certainly recommend the staff on duty . We will return on a regular basis when the hotel reopens . Bravo to the fabulous staff !

Really good experience would definelty recommend. Staff were brilliant and very accommodative. Spa was relaxing, the outdoor jacuzzi was nice. Breakfast was superb. Could not fault the hotel, one of the best I've been in the UK.

Good: Staff met face to face were fantastic, though they had to make up for their colleagues preparing food and drinks. See bad below. Rooms clean and modern. Deserts were great. Bad: Dinner: Vegan menu options very badly executed, returned first and second attempts as inedible. (This element of meal deducted from final bille). Drinks arrived 30 minutes after ordering when we were finishing the starters. Breakfast: Sat down at 9:15 as booked, no brown bread or omelette available. Group ordered eggs benedict and scrambled, these arrived luke warm. Had lost the will to return them at this stage. General: Booked hotel to use Pool/Gym, was told after these were not available to hotel guests, although they were to members. Overall - Average rating (having allowed for the Covid challenges we all face).

This weekend was meant to be taken in April as a special treat for me from my husband so we were really looking forward to it. We are both Bannatyne members so the spa was no surprise to us but the hotel was it was really lovely and I should imagine that in the warmer months it is quite spectacular as the gardens are beautiful.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. I chose it because of the parking and of the spa facilities. However when we stayed we weren’t able to access the pool for obvious Covid reasons. I love the grandeur of the hotel. The grounds are big so my son and I had a run around and played hide and seek. It is a quiet location with only a short drive into Hastings town centre itself.

As a regular visitor to Hastings this was the first time staying at bannatynes as id managed to bag quite a large discount through work, right from the word go the staff were amazing, susie on reception took the time to phone me to check i was happy with the changes that have been neccesarry due to covid, unfortunately this meant the spa facilties were unavailable which was disappointing but completely unavoidable and understandable in the current climate. On arrival susie was on the reception desk and couldnt have been more friendly and helpful, explaining everything i needed to know about my stay. The room was absolutely stunning! The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was spot on, and best of all the room was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was honestly the best breakfast ive eaten, again the staff were all friendly, attentive and helpful Katy from housekeeping couldnt do enough for us, again very friendly, checked we had everything we needed on our way out and when we returned she had done a fantastic job cleaning the room... again.. spotless! In my experience, having stayed in many local hoteks, its very unusual for the house keepers to be friendly or even talk to you so this was a very welcome change! All in all i cannot fault the place and will not stay anywhere else in the future!

Lovely hotel with spa located 2 mins walk away. Great location! Staff were friendly and helpful. However, the fire alarm did go off one of the night of my stay, and no compensation was given. The gardens were well kept.

We booked in for a single night. My partner mentioned to the receptionist that it was my birthday & we were upgraded to a fab 'bridal suite'! This featured lovely walk in shower & even had a bath in the bedroom. The staff had been tipped off it was my birthday & our evening meal even had a 'birthday' theme to it!

We were concerned about Covid safety when taking our break and were pleasantly surprised with the steps that the hotel had taken to make everyone feel safe. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. We were given an upgrade to a superior room and the extra space and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was well organized and friendly. We had dinner one night at the hotel which was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The location was perfect to allow us to visit the surrounding areas. The gardens are well presented but it did not seem possible to break out into the surrounding grounds. The hotel was understandably quiet without functions but that suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of parking available just outside of the entrance.

From arrival to leaving, all the staff we had contact with were helpful and attentive, without being overbearing. Bearing in mind these difficult Covid times, the hotel and spa took every precaution to keep us safe, whilst maintaining a friendly welcome. Our room was upgraded for free, without any prompting from us. Nice touch and very welcome.

I stayed for one night midweek. I was given a free upgrade, without even requesting it. The service received was of a high standard. I would like to praise Susie on reception and Hanna in the dining area particularly. The room was very comfortable and larger than normal rooms. The breakfast was very good and was situated in a very large conservatory overlooking the rear gardens. The issues I have are as follows, I checked the bank statement several days after my stay to find it was higher than stated. It turns out that they charge for coffees at breakfast (a first for me) this is not stated ! Secondly the hand basin tap mechanism was very loose and as the contemporary butler style sink is quite low you are given a ‘free’ waist height shower ! This also soaks the wooden floor. This is both a design floor and maintenance issue. The other problem was with the a/c which I turn off at night. There was considerable noise throughout the night of running water and the mechanics of the trunking. A sleepless night for light sleepers. Would I stay again, most definitely yes !

What An amazing stay we have just had at Bannatynes Spa Hotel. I can’t say enough good things. The staff were amazing, each and everyone of them were, polite, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and always had a smile on their faces (under the masks 😂). The hotel was spotless. I have never stayed at a hotel that has been that clean, the bathroom was sparkling and spotless. The general hotel was also very clean with clear covid signs and practices in operation. The grounds and hotel themselves are beautiful. The spa staff were also so friendly and safe in their work. Each and every staff member we met at both locations are a credit to the hotel and company. We will be back. Thank you for making our time so so special.

Spent a lovely night there this past weekend (17th October). The room was large and very elegant. The bathroom too (although the bath had a couple of strange marks in it that had been patched up). Great selection of teas in the room for self service. The mattress & linen were comfortable and very pleasant so we both had a good night's dleep. The food in the restauarant was delicious and very well presented. I was a bit surprised that the house red wine was a Pinot Noir however. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to the the poor communication to guests like us (where dinner and breakfast was included in our package), regarding how things worked. For the dinner, we were given regular menus (with very differing prices for items). We had to ask how it worked as we were on the inclusive packages. The same for breakfast, but not even a menu that time nor any explaination. Staff should ask about the guest's dining option and explain what's available based on the response. Overall though we had a really relaxing time and will probably go back again at some point.

Excellent, really old fashioned, would have been absolutely wonderful but the masks and social distancing spoilt the mood.

We only stayed one night but our room was gorgeous, overlooking the gardens with a huge bed and fab bathroom. The whole place was clean and we felt very safe with the social distancing. Breakfast was very nice, hot and plentiful. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. A special mention to Saskia on reception who couldn't have been more helpful. I would have rated excellent but they were unable to extend our gift voucher, even though for a long period of the year,we weren't able to book the hotel. Apart from that it was brilliant.

I booked this break a few weeks ago and then read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor, which made me worry about my decision. So I want to put the record straight. My partner and I had a most enjoyable four nights / three days at this hotel. OK so the bedroom wasn't made up one night (a complaint from a previous post) but on reporting this to reception, they did their best to rectify this, even though house keeping had gone home. And the toast wasn't brilliant and didn't arrive on one occasion - again another complaint. BUT the staff are working under difficult conditions with the current pandemic restrictions. Wearing a mask for their entire shift is very tiring but they remain very friendly and do their best to make sure you have a good stay. The hotel has done a grand job at setting out one way systems, which is very re-assuring. The room was clean and the bathroom looked brand new. The Autumn menu was excellent - a wonderful selection and all very tasty and well presented. We would definitely return.
