International Beer Day (5th August)
5th August 2011

Today is the day when millions of people worldwide hit the streets to celebrate the creation of the third most popular beverage after water and tea, probably the oldest alcoholic beverages and a drink which Russia only recently declared to be alcoholic. We know it as beer and today is International Beer Day, a day dedicate to everything beer related.

International Beer Day was originally founded in 2007 by a man called Jesse Avshalomov, as a day to celebrate beer and the people who help get it to our glasses. Over the past 5 years, the fan base and the number of countries who join in the celebrations have grown so that now it is celebrated in over 100 cities in 23 countries. The best way to celebrate IBD is to visit one of the designated IBD host bars and pubs. To find your nearest one, click here.

Happy International Beer Day!
