Our review of the big displays for the annual celebration of one our more notorious failed terrorist incidents...

There seem to rather fewer big public displays this year so we’ve looked out the ones we know to be regular favourites.  With Fulham Palace dropping out (for one year only) then things will be busier than ever so try to get there early.

You may be interested to know that the long range forecast ( so therefore unreliable) says that Friday the 4th will be ok weather – clear, not raining and a bit windy but tolerable.  Saturday 5th however will be rainy and more suitable to indoor fireworks (unless they don’t sell those any more)

Anyway, light the blue touch paper and off we go.

(See also our blog on Halloween and seasonal cupcakes for fun).

Friday 4th

Westway Firework Display

Maxilla Gardens hosts the FREE display with lots of additional entertainment. Entry by St Marks Road.

The gate opens at 6 and the show starts at 7pm

Saturday 5th Nov

Ravenscourt Park Fireworks and Bonfire

The local spectacular – expected to be busy as for one year only, due to the refurb work, there’s no display at Fulham Palace.

Open from 6pm, kids fireworks 7.15pm, big show 8pm

(except they only seem to have 2010 info on there. The times above are right as far as we know.)

Battersea Park Fireworks 2011

South London Spectacular (it really is - £8 or so on the door but worth it).

Opens 6pm, bonfire lit 7.30pm and fireworks from 8pm

Ealing Cricket Club

The fireworks at Ealing are always set to music- this year Rock and Roll is the theme.  The display is by Absolutely Fabulous (the firework display company not Patsy and Edina)

Open from 6pm, fireworks from 7.30pm

So there. Have fun, report back, be safe.  w
