Stayed here for 4 nights and was very impressed.
From the quick efficient checking in through to checking out, everything about this hotel is good. If I had one minor issue, and it is a very minor one it’d be the smell of cooking outside from early evening. But the simple answer is to close the window and balcony door, problem solved.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. The room we had was bright, airy and overlooked the valley - the complimentary fruit and decanter of sherry are a very nice touch.
The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard, with an optional “turn down” service, so when you get back to your room it’s tidy and neat – a great service!
All the staff working here are friendly and cheerful and are only too happy to please. It’s this and the outstanding quality of the food makes the Fermain Valley the place to stay. We ate in both the Rock Garden Steak House and Ocean restaurants’ (Both in the hotel) and were not disappointed. The Mushroom risotto in the Ocean restaurant was possibly the best I have ever tasted. What was really outstanding is that when I ordered sea bass in the rock garden, I requested it without scallops, consequently the bill was less than expected as the scallops were not charged (You’ll not find that in every restaurant). The Valley Tea Room (also in the hotel) serve the most amazing pastries and cakes all made on the premises.
If you decide to stay anywhere else on Guernsey (Why would you?) then at least book the restaurants, but book in advance as they’re very popular particularly the Rock Garden.

We were unlucky enough to have our ferry crossing cancelled. The hotel allowed us to come back and use their facilities despite the fact we’d already checked out. If I were to visit Guernsey again, this would be the place I’d choose to stay.
Good hotel, good food and good service. It doesn’t get better than that. Well done Fermain Valley - 10/10!

Me and my boyfriend visited fermain valley over the valentines weekend and we had a brilliant trip.
Beautiful hotel situated at the top of the valley looking out over wonderful views and only short walk to the beach.
The service was impeccable over our entire trip specifically at the ocean restaurant.

Our room was in 'the venue' part of the hotel which is only a short walk from the main reception. Everything was very clean and tidy and as a nice touch there was a compomentary bottle of port in the room.

Will definitely be visiting again!

I'd like to give this place just 1 star but only so that no-one else goes there - but that would be selfish. Nothing was too much trouble, fantastic (Platinium) room, lovely view and very well situated for walking both along the (very) rugged south coast or a little less frenetic stroll c. 50mins into St. Peter Port. Many buses regularly pass the top of the road (£1 any distance - can't fault that either); you really don't need to hire a car. We passed on the the d,b&b offer when booking because we expected to eat out - BIG mistake. The food was fantastic so dinner each evening turned out to be a no-brainer. Good choice of beers (inc. some decent local ales) and wines. The indoor pool was around a tepid bath temperature - perfect after a day's walking, and the sauna was HOT. Really couldn't find fault with anything. One small negative to be aware of: the hotel is near the flightpath for Guernsey airport, but aircraft are high, small, and propeller driven. Flying starts late and ends early. And all the aircraft were landing so were on idle. Can honestly say the noise wasn't a bit intrusive, just briefly noisy compared with the near total silence the rest of the time. We will be returning. See you there!

We recently stayed for 5 nights at he Fermain Valley Hotel, it is situated down a lane off the main road, it is all downhill to the car park & very much steeper down to the lovely bay, The hotel exudes a touch of class, everything is very nicely presented with 2 restaurants, small library, bar lounge tea room & also a swimming pool with sauna, The only disappointing thing was that our room(39)in the main hotel which was very nice had a sloping ceiling over one side of the bed & looked out over the car park & not the gardens as i was expecting. It had very nice high quality wardrobes with plenty of space, tea/coffee making facilities, free wi fi, a comfortable large bed, hairdryer, iron & safe as well as a very nice bathroom. Overall very pleased.

The breakfast was very nice with all cooked items made to order with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts & pastries. we ate in the ocean Restaurant every night as the food was excellent with lots to choose from, would highly recommend it, the Steakhouse which is also at the Hotel has an excellent reputation but we didn't try as seemed a little expensive & we liked the Ocean a lot. be aware that the Venue which has rooms also is about 200yds from main hotel with a walk through the gardens lovely on a nice day bit of a trek when raining.

The swimming is not massive but very nice if you want to use the sauna let them know about 45 minutes before you go as it was never turned on during our visit unless you requested it, Free towels are provided.

The hotel has 2 courtesy vehicles which they take guests in to St Peter port & the Airport if you pre-book, Very good service, If you make it down to Fermain Bay there are wonderful walks in either direction, left to St Peter-Port or right towards St Martins point we enjoyed both but you need to be reasonably fit as there are lots of climbs & descents. We also visited the small island of Herm which was a delight on a lovely sunny day, £13.00 return from St Peter-Port harbour. The little Chapel is currently under scaffold & covering but still glad we visited as it's unique. The bus service on the island is great with single trips all £1.00 or £4.50 for an unlimited day pass. We were very lucky with the weather & really enjoyed our stay and were pleased with our choice of hotel.

Checked in was smooth and very quick everything explained by the receptionist. Room very spacious and bright. Usual tea and coffee, Iron and board as well as a hair dryer. Sat TVs with numerous channel. Great views over the valley and Jersey in the distance. We booked a "lovelocal", deal which included dinner. Good choice on the menu for the time of year. Service very friendly and efficient portion sizes are good, wine was at reasonable prices and a good choice from around the world.
Used the pool it was a tad warm but good for a 20min work out.
WiFi available throughout the hotel and is extremely quick, even outside on the terrace. A very good stay at a great location. Walk into to town through bluebell woods, or Fermain Bay and cliff path linked to Pleinmont on a good day. Thanks for the card
Hope to see you soon.🌞👫

From being met at the airport, to being welcomed at the hotel, and despite Reception being temporarily relocated due to new carpet laying, we felt taken care of. There had been a misunderstanding with our booking on the type of room but this was rectified for us and we settled in for a very pleasant 5-night stay, breakfast and three evening meals. The Ocean Restaurant was modern and well run and we enjoyed our meals there. The Rock Garden Steak Restaurant was a stand-out experience, Tom, our waiter was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and our steaks were juicy and full of flavour. There was a great modern atmosphere and a weekend sort of vibe even though it was only Thursday ! The views from both the room, and the hotel terraces and gardens are beautiful, bluebell woodland running down to the sea. We were lucky with the weather but if the wind blows the rain in you can hunker down in your room and enjoy a glass of sherry from the decanter filled daily. Well, a glass or two went down on the terrace at sunset too. The swimming pool was clean, well kept and very hot, pay attention if you stay in longer than 30 mins, but what a great way to start the day or ease some aching muscles after walking the stunning cliff paths during the day. We can highly recommend both hotel and location for a great break on the charming island of Guernsey.

It has been my great fortune to stay at the Fermain Valley Hotel in previous years on business trips and this year i decided to extend my stay with my wife joining me for a few days.
This hotel is set in spectacular grounds with just a short walk, through woods covered by bluebells and wild garlic flowers, down to a lovely cove. The Beach Cafe serves tasty crab sandwiches and has a most reasonable wine list!
From the moment we were met at the airport by the friendly staff we were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms are tastefully designed and maintained to a high international standard. The food was excellent and we would particularly recommend the Rock Garden restaurant.

A big thank you to Gavin and the excellent staff for making our stay so enjoyable - we will definitely return.

There is only one problem with staying at the Fermain Valley Hotel. Once you do, you will never stay anywhere else on Guernsey.

This is our umpteenth visit to Guernsey and our second stay at the Fermain.

We stayed here last year for my Birthday and our Wedding Anniversary - both of which happily fall on "Liberation Day" May 9.

Last year was a 'big' Birthday for me. (This year even big-ger!). And what a lovely Birthday treat.

The Staff are exceptional. The Hotel itself is beautiful. Clean. Modern yet Classic. The location is unbeatable. The Restaurants are fabulous. (I'm running out of imaginative positive words!)

The Rock Garden Restaurant (in the Hotel) is the best Restaurant on the island. On
a holiday island full of great Restaurants, this is saying something. Amazing food and staff who cannot do enough for you. Book early to avoid disappointment.

If you wanted to, you could stay here and never leave the Hotel Campus. With the Restaurants. Pool. Gardens. The Views. They even have a Cinema. However, it would be a pity to miss out on the beauty of this island. As the locals say "Sarnia Cherie".

P.S. My husband asked me not to be too ebullient - he doesn't want it to become so popular we struggle to book next time!

Come. Enjoy. Tell them the Ashwoods sent you!

This is the first time we have stayed at Fermain Valley, but I suspect it wont be our last. It was so easy to fly here from Stansted (4 hours door to door from our house in Colchester) particularly as it was all arranged by the hotel. A nice touch was being met at the airport by the hotel's driver.
Staff are all very friendly and little extras like the decanter of Sherry in the room, make it feel special.
We ate at the Ocean Restaurant on our first night, which was lovely. Oskar looked after us and even moved us to a more romantic table when it became free. The Crab Linguine was full of flavour and the Fillet Steak was one of the best texured pieces of meat I have ever eaten.
The view from our room down the valley is beautiful, as was the coast walk through the bluebells to St Peter Port yesterday.
Rooms are high standard and very well appointed. Excellent WiFi and Sky TV.
The Fermain Bay Café was a little piece of Heaven
