A slightly disappointing stay at St Pierre Park given its reputation as one of the best hotels on the island - although it has four stars it feels as though the place could do with a thorough sprucing up. Our room was on the small size with no aircon or fridge. Nice enough balcony however. We were on the third floor and could still clearly hear the noise of the generator outside the groundfloor rooms clearly even with the window closed - I can only assume this would have been fairly distracting for guests on the lower levels.

This is a large hotel and breakfast was a correspondingly busy affair - that said, it didn't seem to be staffed accordingly with orders requiring an age both be taken and delivered, and various items running out on the buffet. In general the staff were a mixed bag - a few were extremely helpful, but a larger number seemed very inexperienced. Checking in and out were annoying protracted affairs.

On the plus side, the hotel is in a lovely setting and sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake was a charming view. The hotel is well located for a 20 minute or so walk into St Peter Port and the residents' bar was decent enough.

Overall this felt like a missed opportunity for what could be a first rate hotel but one that has been overtaken by better options elsewhere on the island.

We enjoyed our stay at St Pierre Park, we stayed for 5 nights and found all members of staff to be helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location for getting around the island. We did walk into St Peters Port - it took us around 30mins but there is a bus stop within a few minutes walk of the hotel with regular buses in the day to St Peters Port and we used this mainly, we also hired a car during our stay which hotel reception helped to arrange. Our rooms were standard rooms on the third floor, extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had the patio doors open at night as it was hot and the rooms had no air conditioning. Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold choices. We also used the pool and gym and found these facilities to be very good. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and relaxing.

Breakfast here was my highlight with so many options available.
Rooms we're comfy, however without air con, so we did make use of the patio doors.
Bar has a nice range of board games available to play.
About a 20 minute walk to the main port, but staff will happily arrange taxis for you - bear in mind there is often a wait for your taxi, so book this in advance.

What is the point in offering early bird restaurant deals between 6&7 if there are no tables available as they are all booked for 7 and later! At 6.15 the restaurant was empty!!!! Not great for customer service or relations!

We stayed in the Alderney suite for one night for my birthday and loved it. We didn't really leave the room as we obviously specifically came for what the suite had to offer, more specifically the garden and jacuzzi. The staff who brought our (numerous) room service orders were really friendly and professional. The room was very comfortably kitted out. I think the decor is a tad out of date though and it was a little weird for me to see that there weren't really any toiletry supplies (there was a note saying we should contact reception for this). I also didn't think the food was great (both dinner and breakfast). However, the overall experience of our night in the suite was fantastic!

We have recently returned from Guernsey, the Hotel itself is on the outskirts of St Peter Port, definately not walking distance, even for the fit and able.

Unfortunately it is right on a very busy road and we were unlucky to be allocated a room right next to the road, which for us was extremely noisy. One of the reasons we choose this hotel was becasue it was not in the centre of St Peter Port where we thought it would be noisy.

On Arrival - we were dealt with efficiently, but not with any warmth. In fact the whole time we were there - we didn't feel particularly welcome.

The bar staff were always extremely courteous, but again, not particularly engaging.

We ate in the hotel one evening at the bar, which was OK, but the tables are to low for comfortable eating.

Our room - although noisy was very nice, very clean and well kept.

Overall - would we go back - possibly not, having stayed in Jersey at the Pomme D'or, where the staff were amazing and extremely welcoming, we now feel very let down by our experience here.

Generally, the Hotel was very good, we asked for a quiet room, and after getting used to the Air Conditioning Unit outside, its wasn't too bad, although we had to keep the balcony door shut or it would have been too noisy!. Long walk into town, and even longer back, as the first part is a very steep hill! Beakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. We ate once in the Restaurant on the Early Bird Deal and with the discount it was a reasonable price, with very nice food. The second time we ate there, there must have been a different chef.. The starter was 3 very small scallops ( The previous time we had 4 large scallops ) and the main course was and extremely small and dry piece of pork, 3 new potatoes and about half a dozen green beans. We decided not to try the desert! Very very disappointing and expensive...Didn't eat there again- most guests must have known, as both times the restaurant was practically empty!
However, the Hotel itself was fine, rooms good, beds very comfortable, grounds very quiet, staff generally friendly.

The best thing about this hotel was the very comfortable bed. There was also sparkling and still water, a nespresso machine, free wifi and a bathrobe which were nice touches. The room was generally very clean apart from an unfortunate carpet stain. The reception staff seemed efficient but weren't very friendly and my wake-up call never arrived. My only concern about my first floor room was that the balcony opened up on to a roof terrace which meant I couldn't open the patio door to cool the room down as anyone would have been able to walk right in. So as there was no air conditioning I had a rather warm and stuffy night. The breakfast was very good. A good choice on the buffet supplemented by a range of other dishes you could order. I enjoyed my pancakes and a mouthful of my colleagues delicious kipper. Another had Eggs Benedict.

Another great stay here last weekend. The staff and the food are excellent. Cannot fault this place and always get service as nothing is too much trouble. Angela on reception 'stood out' from the rest and was extremely helpful and charming. Will deffo be back next year.
