My husband booked this hotel direct for our wedding anniversary. We stayed on the "Gourmet Package" for 2 nights in a platinum room.
The package included flights, car hire, room and half board (one night at "Christophe's").
The hotel is located just above a beautiful bay (beach pebbles not sand) with an excellent beach cafe. The views throughout the hotel of the sea were stunning. We really enjoyed sitting on the hotel terrace with a Pimm's!
Our room also had an amazing outlook to the sea with a balcony. The room was nicely decorated with a flat screen TV and plenty of clothes storage.
We ate at Christophe's (linked with hotel) on the first night. The food was really special, brilliant atmosphere and service was excellent.
The second night we ate at the hotel resturant where the food was good.
We loved the cliff top walk, well worth doing.
The only thing that let the hotel done at times was the service which could be very, very slow. We had to wait up to 30 minutes for two drinks for example.
Overall, we would recommend this hotel and Christophe's for a very relaxing, enjoyable break.

My partner and I recently returned after a lovely getaway to Guernsey. We heard great reviews of the Fermain Valley Hotel and decided to give it a try. From the booking process to departing the hotel we received 5* service all the way through. The reservationist was very helpfull in explaining the various packages they offer, and which one would suite us best. The hotel shuttle bus collected us from the airport and was always at the ready to take us wherever we wanted to go. The reception staff could not do more to help us, make recommendations and assisted with every need. The food was fantastic with very friendly service staff! The only problem - it was too short a visit. We hope to visit the Fermain Valley and its lovely staff very soon!!! Great hotel!!!

Fermain Hotel has a great location - partial sea views, lovely rooms mostly with balconys. Rooms are well cleaned although perhaps a little too quickly as my particular room had several cobwebs which had not been cleared by my departure date.

The hotel is well located for access to beautiful cliff walks and the excellent Fermain Cafe on the beach which is not part of this hotel.

The hotel is badly let down by poor restaurant service. Throughout our stay we found ourselves constantly reminding staff of our orders especially at breakfast and for after dinner drinks. Service was generally slow to non existent. This standard of service is not what I have come to expect for a four star hotel and is even more puzzling as there seemed to be sufficient waiting staff to ensure a high standard of service. We tried the hotel for dinner and were not impressed by the standard of our meal. My advice would be to travel outside of the hotel for evening meals as there are many well priced good restaurants on the island, including the cafe in Fermain Bay which is open in the evening and has a lovely setting. Despite having a wonderful location the hotel is badly let down by its poor standard of service and in some parts the attitude of some (not all) of its staff. A good location does not ensure sustainable business - please note.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon (also stayed 4 nights in Jersey). On booking into the hotel we were met by excellent service and efficiency from staff, who explained everything we needed to know about the hotel and showed us where everything was. We parked the car at the hotels own car park and then were given a 'Gold Double Room' with balcony & sea view. Rooms were spotless, comfortable and roomy, with complimentary fresh fruit, fudge and bottles of water (in the fridge). Staff had placed red rose petals on our bed, for our first night, which was a lovely touch. We were booked on the 'Best of Guernsey' package which included return flights from Jersey (other airports an option), hire car, a gold double room, one nights 3 course dinner and a return boat trip ticket to Herm island. We had such a fantastic time at the Fermain Valley Hotel, the staff were absolutely great & so friendly. We spent the hot afternoons in the indoor heated swimming pool with the changing rooms having a shower and a private area to change. We found the food at the hotel to be excellent, served hot, delicious and plenty of it! We fully recommend staying at the Fermain Valley Hotel. We do not regret going to the Channel Islands, as we had already travelled on a around the world trip, last November, and didnt want any jet lag on our honeymoon!! We hadn't realised how lovely both Jersey and Guernsey was. We hope to return one day and when we do we will deffinately be staying at the Fermain Valley Hotel.

What an excellent setting and what a superb place to stay.
We stayed for four days and even though hire car came with the package we did not really want to leave the hotel.
There is a beautiful beach at the bottom of the wooded valley where the Fermaine is situated so to be honest there is very little reason to use the car given the hotel also runs a shuttle bus service to and from St Peter Port and the airport.
The management and staff are all really friendly and service is excellent with nice little touches such as complimentary sherry in the room and free room service for tea or coffee.
Our son is aged 14 months and he was well catered for with the children’s menu and the very understanding staff who never once made us feel self conscious about the noise and mess that is part of baby dining.
The locals clearly enjoy this place too so booking the restaurant is advisable especially at week-ends.

My hubby and I spent a week at this hotel from 11th - 18th July and can not praise it highly enough. We were celebrating our ruby wedding anniversary and everything was just perfect. The young staff went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly. The food is fantastic, especially the breakfast and on the one night it rained we went to the hotel's cinema. They even had a little bar in the cinema so was able to watch "Australia" with my glass of Sauvignon. There is no need to hire a car as an excellent bus service up the road takes you into St.Peterport for 60p where you can get a bus to anywhere. Our room was number 12 overlooking the bay - a view to die for.

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms in the main house, friendly helpful staff and a good english cooked breakfast.

There is a great beach cafe which is well worth a visit, though the road could be a little steep.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fermain Valley Hotel. Our room overlooked the valley with distant views of the sea from the balcony. It was well appointed and extremely comfortable. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The highlight was dinner at Christophes the Michelin starred restaurant within the upper gardens of the hotel. We chose the gourmet menu which was a sumptuous feast with complementary wines served by courteous and knowledgeable staff. On our return trip back through the beautiful garden to our hotel room we were treated to the sight of a full moon hanging over the bay, glittering on the sea. A wonderful end to an amazing evening.

This is the first time we stayed at this hotel and will not be the last. The location in a wooded valley with views to the sea was superb. The walk down to the rocky beach was envigorating. The hotel was kept immaculate by helpful staff. The reception staff in particular worked very long hours but were always willing to help in any way. Our room was slightly smaller than we had anticipated but the balcony with a sea view made a difference. Like most things in Guernsey, the price was somewhat on the high side as were the extras. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and were delivered hot. The downsides were that the car parking was inadequate and the overflow was a little walk from the Hotel and the hotel is located under the flightpath to Guernsey airport which is not too busy but there is a regular incoming plane at 0615!
