Marching through History with a series of guided and narrated cliff walks from Havelet through Fort George to the Belvedere Tunnel.

These walks take place on Monday 16th April 2018, Monday 30th April 2018 and Monday 7th May 2018, from 2.00pm until 4.30pm, along the cliff paths south of St Peter Port.

Starting at Havelet Bar slipway by the Octopus restaurant, this is a bracing walk from Havelet bay to Clarence battery (steps), then on the cliff path to the Military cemetery through Fort George and Belvedere tunnel.

This route covers rugged terrain and firm footwear is recommended. Hear about the Guernsey Militia, the British Military and especially the German occupation during WW2. In particular hear stories of both local heroes and the tales behind the deaths of a few of the 111 German soldiers buried at the Military cemetery.
