In the United States an alien invasion threw humanity into chaos, but was it real or simply the Orson Welles’ 1938 radio broadcast? 81 years later, the GYCT Little Theatre Company recreates that infamous evening. Monday May 4th LET ME COUNT THE WAYS
Presented in conjunction with the Guernsey Literary Festival, an evening of sonnets. Not just Shakespeare. From the Italian sonetto, which means "a little song," the sonnet is a popular classical form that has compelled poets for centuries. Traditionally, the sonnet is a fourteen-line poem written in iambic pentameter. The modern sonnet can often only be identified by the ghost imprint that haunts it, recognizable by the presence of 14 lines or even by name only. Come to listen or bring your own to read aloud. Monday June 1st VOICE WORKSHOP
Dean Hollingsworth helps us explore how to use the voice in all its roles. A Vocal Workshop aimed at students, teachers, actors, singers, public speakers, committee members, hotel receptionists, market traders etc. etc. etc. to protect one of their most vital instruments. The workshop will look at different techniques to improve your voice, prevent injury and explore how our mental and physical states play a part. Expect silly faces, interesting partner work and balloons, what more could you want? Meet at 7:30 for a 7:45 start. The Lion's Den.
Monday July 6th POSTS at the Viaer Marchi
The presentation of the product of the sessions that have been devising and working on a depiction of some of the stories related to Guernsey's folklore.This coincides with the annual Viaer Marchi at Saumarez Park. Times to be advised.
The GYCT Little Theatre Company meets upstairs in The Lion's Den at The Golden Lion, St. Peter Port on the first Monday of each month from 7:30 p.m. You are advised to check the event post for the actual start time each month.
There is no formal membership of this theatre club; just turn up on the night.
The GYCT Little Theatre Company is a monthly theatre-based evening in a relaxed atmosphere, and kicked off in May 2018 as part of the Guernsey Literary Festival with a reading of Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas.
