Our 1st visit to Guernsey was for our golden wedding anniversary. The OGH hotel made it superb with their excellent personal service, facilities and restaurants.
It is an old building so the 60 rooms are all very individual.
The Brassery Restaurant was very good - eat in the conservatory or out in the garden for breakfast or lunch. Evening tends to be inside with open windows. Good choices of food, all very good, superb service.
Lovely bar which does make good cocktails and friendly service inside or out. There is also a bar menu but we did not try that.
The Governor's Room Curry House was fine dining curry with a south african twist. Superb food, wine and service.
The concierge service is very helpful and managed to book us into the Victor Hugo tour (ensure you get an english tour and book well in advance) and the TukTuk tour which were all really good. We also took a ferry trip over to Herme.
The small swimming pool is set in lovely private gardens with sunbeds, towels and free flavoured water. Wonderful pool side service.
A few minutes walk to Candie gardens which are worth a visit. 10 minutes walk down the hill into St Peter Port sea front or shopping streets.
All in all, a superb hotel and visit. We will return.

Lovely reception staff Different colour codes for waiting rooms Lift or stairs Lovely medical staff ,much more room than old surgery Light and airy It's a bit difficult driving out of carpark onto Grange ,have to be wary of people on pavement My big love always has to be helpful friendly staff this surgery has it all
When you call to book an appointment girls on phone always friendly and helpful
Chemists next door So straight from Dr's to pick up any prescriptions It's small but has alot in it Girls seem friendly enough Opens at 8 am most Dr's Pharmacy's do We are blessed to have a good team of Dr's and nurses at Grange Surgery
There's also longfrie Surgery ,brilliant Spent many years going out to St Peters to see my GP until had to see new one No complaints from me about our Dr's Went this morning for injection despite half of St Martins being disrupted by roadworks My app was for 7:40 went in early Lovely nurse quick easy jab Then out and spent half an hour trying to get 5 minutes up the road I'm sure I went through Alburquerque at one stage or it could have been Los Angeles 😱 my GP was away and I knew I was going to run out of medication Dr's PA had gone he for the day Spoke to different PA ,no worries went through medication required I asked if I should call back to check it could be done That's OK came the reply it will be ready for collection after 4 yesterday So all sorted no worries problem solved Exit one satisfied crazy Granny 🙂 😊
My grandchildren introduce me as "This is Granny she's crazy but non violent and has a big heart ❤Thank goodness for the last bit 😅
No air conditioning in the rooms! My room was like a sauna, made it very difficult to sleep. Staff were wonderful and supplied a mobile air con unit but to no avail. Staff overall were wonderful and breakfast is great.
Also, be aware that the "cheaper" rooms are in a unit quite a long way from the main hotel and do not look like anything on the advertising!
