We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from Black Pineapple Travel, who have been shortlisted for two prestigious awards at the esteemed Azure Luxury Hotel Collection Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony.

Unfortunately, since Hand Picked Hotels have picked the bones from a once superb accommodation, service, variety and that ‘feeling special’ vibe has deteriorated/vanished.
The staff are as wonderful as ever, hard working, attentive and passionate.
If only the management, who were non-existent, would follow suit.
Waiting times to be served in the Ocean Restaurant and the Rock Garden were well over an hour in the evening, management failings so no blame should be apportioned on the waiting staff, with very limited menus compared to days of yore prior to Hand Picked ‘give em’ a small choice but we make a bundle philosophy’.
Oh how I yearn for a steak from Brazil, Argentina, Ireland or other far flung countries around the globe that the Rock Garden was famous and revered for.
Not anymore…..Saturday night just gone, a very apologetic waitress announced that they only had two steaks available and an even more sparse wine selection. It’s akin to popping to your local Indian and being told “sorry we’re out of curries”!
Friends and other guests also commented during our stay that “things are not as they used to be prior to Hand Picked Hotels’ involvement.
Thank goodness the staff at the front end are still trying to hold this once fabulous hotel together.
Fermain waiting/bar/reception staff you are amazing…… management/Hand Picked, you may have lost loyal guests.
This is our 8th stay at Fermain. Our room - which we request, as has a beautiful sea view - is amazing. Although, our towel rail isn’t working, so we can’t dry our towels or swimsuits. The staff, Katia, Julius, Kevin to name but a few are incredible. But, unfortunately, since being taken over by Hand Picked Hotels, it has changed dramatically. Whilst on holiday, I like to enjoy a glass of Sauvignon blanc, or Pinot grigio, or a decent glass of blush. But unfortunately, these are but available by the glass! On sale are some rather dreadful wines, which are grown in Julia Hand’s vineyards. I might use them to clean my shower cubicle doors, but I couldn’t drink them - they were awful. Rock Gardens used to be fantastic. Steak from all over world and it would be booked up months in advance. Now it is empty - with no atmosphere. When we ate there, there was a choice of two types of steak! . Filet and Chateaubriand were off the menu too! It’s not the waiting staff’s fault - it’s the management! Buhu is fabulous - no problem there, but would we return, just for a Mexican restaurant? Something has to seriously be changed, before this once amazing hotel returns to its former glory.
