Room/bathroom were nice and big and the balcony looking out to the garden was perfect in the sun. The room was clean, although a little dated.
I booked on Agoda which made the price a little more digestible, tourism is at its peak in August so prices inevitably rise with this.
The hotel is big so can be noisy depending if there is a party or wedding. We had a 40th party pretty close but the windows did a pretty good job at keep this down to a minimum.
As a guest you get use of the pool/spa facilities. You need to book in advance for any massages, which we did. Was great being able to sit outside on their decking area in the jacuzzi, in the sun. Although, would be nicer if it were more private.
Finally, location is great. You have a decent restaurant (Nineteen), a short walk up the hill through the grounds. A big Waitrose across the road and the walk to town is up hill initially but definitely doable, maybe 20mins.

This hotel is spot on , just returned from a 4 day stay , The food , the staff , the cleanliness of the hotel 1st class , the management run a very well organised machine , never had to wait for service anywhere , the staff were very polite and helpful, a special mention to Paul behind the bar , such a happy pleasant guy even when very busy .
A few points to make , it’s up a fairly steep hill from the port , don’t be fooled by a short 3 mile taxi ride it will set you back £20-25 from the airport.
Around the pool is lovely but quite small so abit of sunbed hogging goes on which is a shame .
Fantastic restaurants all over the Port , even use the hotel the evening meal was lovely too .
