"I had a fantastic afternoon at the awards ceremony, which was hosted at the Hatherley manor hotel.
We arrived and were greeted with drinks in the walled garden and later we had a delightful meal.
The event was compered by Valerie Singleton OBE, the television and radio presenter best known for her years on Blue Peter.
A short film clip was shown for each nominee for each category. My category was 'volunteer hero over 25'. I was completely shocked when they called my name - I didn't expect that I would win.
I am so pleased that the charity has also been recognised for the fantastic work they do with children and young people who have experienced death in their families."
