Five years ago, Gloucester MP Richard Graham went into the largest part of the Railway Triangle for the first time ... 'a disgraceful wasteland and symbol of twenty years of failed regeneration attempts'.
Today, thanks to work between a committed developer LXB and the City Council, and rapid demolition work by Smiths Gloucester, the site is almost cleared.
Redevelopment follows rapidly for a light industrial site that will provide up to 1,000 new jobs, with flood alleviation tanks below ground, £250,000 of new trees and an entrance to our city to be proud of.
Barnwood Construction's £8m contract to build a new Morrisons puts investment into the local construction industry and more contracts with other building companies will follow shortly.
