Do you want Tescos in Churchdown?

Last night saw over 200 residents attend a meeting on a proposed new Tesco store to be built in Churchdown.

A group formed to oppose this move, CATS (Churchdown Against Tesco Site) held this meeting in order to put across their points and issues in relation to the proposed fsuperstore at the former Hurrans Garden Centre in Cheltenham Road East.

The meeting was chaired by Gordon Goodman, who lives in Church Road.

He said: “I am not against Tesco, I am against Tesco being at that site. It will threaten the village atmosphere. It will threaten the shops that we have here at the moment which is not on. I want these shops here when I grow old.”

So what's your thoughts on this proposed move for tesco?

Do you belive it is in the best interests to create yet another large food store in Gloucester?

Will it help in the re-generation of the village or will it bring unwanted traffic through the local streets?

We want to know your issues and questions. Feel free to add any comments and remarks and even any of your own proposals.
