Sunday lunch with family (great atmosphere - fantastic food whole family cleared plates all three courses never happened before) thoroughly relaxing time, friendly and extremely helpful staff!
Lovely tasteful renovations without losing the character of a truly English village pub.

We were transported to the pub by our lovely daughter, upon entering we could feel a nice friendly atmosphere. The service was efficient and friendly, and the lunch menu was very appetizing. We started with a "Tear & Share" baked cheese, delicious! Then soup, then I had my favourite fish and chips and then I had a superb syrup sponge pudding & custard (all delicious !) I really over did the gormandizing that day! But as every item on the menu appears to have been cleverly crafted to be at its best maybe I can be forgiven. It was a most enjoyable experience!

The Black Horse Windmill Lane in Fulmer, offers the quintessential English Country pub with the lovely village church next door and a 'Midsummer Murder' feel to the Village, the pub offers ample parking for the 'sun trap' back garden & offers great value for families with daily specials and a fine selection of beers and wines.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday Roast with home cooked chicken liver pâté followed by 28 day hung beef, the staff can't do enough to help bringing extra veggies when asked. The busy atmosphere adds to the experience and the-recent refurbishment has provided designer bathrooms with Molton Brown luxury toiletries.

My personal experience of the Black Horse is one of gratitude for the support & willingness the owners showed me in helping host a Charity Auction back in Sept '12 in memory of my lovely wife at the pub. All the proceeds were given to The Royal Marsden Cancer Fund.and nothing was too much trouble With Jonnie Ball (Of Strictly Come Dancing Fame ) as our Auctioneer, along with 300 guests we raised
over £37,700 on the night! The certificate from the Royal Marsden is on the wall in the pub for all to see. It makes me proud to drink there ... thank you Black Horse and the staff team.

The Black Horse is now both a comfortable pub and high quality restaurant. The new format has transformed the pub into the best it's a been in 15 years. The food is excellent with good sized portions - not too big (just as bad as too small - not sure why people think big portions equals good food) and excellent staff. Many thanks to all the staff for making such an excellent local pub.

Went there for lunch on a Monday. Food was fantastic, the service was great and very good value for money. The new owners have given the place a new lease of life and I look forward to going back there for dinner or dare I say it to have a beer in the garden! The place was buzzing on Monday lunch time so must be good. Will even consider turning up early doors for a coffee and a croissant.

I was recommended this pub by a good friend and a great recommendation it was too. I went on a Thursday lunchtime and chose from the 2 course fixed price menu at £12.50. The first course I selected was a starter of seared scallops and the main was a venison shepherd's pie. Both dishes were quite superb and cooked to perfection. I was slightly concerned the food might not have been to this standard given the price.I need not have worried.
The atmosphere was warm, the pub's decor gorgeous and the service genuinely friendly.

On arrival staff gave us a very warm welcome. My friends arrived and were immediately given a welcome drink and the atmosphere was very happy and friendly. After taking our seats our food order was handled very efficiently. Starters were lovely and fresh, our main course came out hot and was delicious.
After our meal we continued to enjoy coffee and birthday cup cakes. At the end of the evening my friends felt we had a great time at a lovely venue. We would recommend the Black Horse to anyone who has a special day coming up or is looking for great food.

Stopped here for a pub lunch. Delightful place that has been beautifully restored but has managed to keep the charm of a traditional English pub. Great food presented well. Will definitely return!

We recently visited the The Black Horse in Fulmer for a 50th birthday celebration, we loved the cosy bar and open fire, staff were friendly and welcoming. We were a large group of 10 couples over 2 tables, despite this our food all came out together and was excellent quality. The waiting staff were knowledgeable and accommodating to all our needs. Toilets were clean and modern; all in all a great evening!

4 of us enjoyed a really lovely meal last Saturday night. Food was really excellent and well priced. Neither was too fancy! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Table was good position. I had turbot with a coconut and orange sauce- really lovely and the predictable Etonian mess for afters (it's so nice to find predictable puddings!) looking forward to next opportunity to dine here. I noticed that they have rooms open for accommodation too : defiantly worth trying that out.

We were looking for somewhere to eat around Gerrards Cross/Beaconsfield way and so many venues were just so busy and having not booked decided not to dine in the hustle and bustle of the Sundays outings so kept going and arrived at The Black Horse.
I have been there before and was pleased they agreed to serve us without a booking.
We sat outside in the garden which was quiet and not too overloaded with screaming children.
A set menu was in place and we opted for the two course option at £21, which isn't cheap but we definitely got what we paid for.
Me being vegetarian I asked for just a plate of veg as the only vegetarian option was a goats cheese ensemble which I did not fancy. The manager immediately suggested they could make me a vegetable risotto which was great, this sort of response is what I love and you do not get often!
Due to a house renovation we have no kitchen and were craving vegetables so ordered three extra vegetable sides which were needed as the portions are not that big!
My risotto was lovely and my partner loved his roast, my only issue would be the portion sizes are slightly on the small side!
Desert was absolutely amazing I had a dark chocolate tart with raspberry cream. Compliments to the chef, it is the best pudding I have had in a long time.
Friendly staff and good all round.
Well done will be driving out again soon!

Had a lovely meal here. Loved that they had risotto verde on the menu. One of my favourite dishes. Also enjoyed the creme brulee. Went as a group of 4 and we all enjoyed our meal here. Will definitely come again soon.

Visited the Black Horse on Wednesday evening. Fantastic atmosphere and music playing throughout with both a busy restaurant and large tidy beer garden.

We were greeted by a female member of staff (manager? in a smart shirt and tie?) and were quickly seated and wine list offered to us.

The Goats cheese and onion tart was superb, with all the other food being of a high standard also!

Although we had a consistent waiter attending our table, the manageress who greeted us came to check on the service and food during the meal.

Highly recommend this pub and restaurant if you are in the Pinewood Studios area. It is perfect for business lunches and found it great for corporate entertainment.

Used to visit this pub when I was in my twentys, what a lovely surprise I had today when I went for lunch. My grandson who has worked in many restaurants and is very critical of both food and service didn't have one bad thing to say about The Black Horse. All five of us really enjoyed all courses and we will be returning very soon.
