With eight branches in eight years during very difficult economic times D&G Autocare is certainly a business to be proud of. With five brances in their home county of Fife, D&G Autocare continue to expand throughout Scotland, this year they are aiming for the capital. This blog gives a summary of their history and growth.

D&G Autocare was started by two friends who had worked and trained in the motor industry for most of their working life since leaving school. David Hunter and George Simpson started out in business together, as D&G Autocare, on April the 1st 2004. By that time they were in their mid-thirties, so they had lots of experience and knew exactly how they felt a “garage” should perform for vehicle owners.

It all started with their first garage at Rumblingwell, in Dunfermline. With a friendly approach and a purchasing plan that enabled them to keep the cost of parts, for their customer’s cars, low they quickly built up a loyal customer base. They added an MOT station to the services the garage provided and the customer base quickly grew.

With the Rumblingwell garage doing well they opened a new garage at Inverkeithing. This garage was to be different as it would cater for Light Commercial Vehicles as well as cars and was their first garage to offer class 7 MOT’s.

The Pitreavie garage was next to be opened and labelled as a Fast-Fit outlet. It is sited in a busy business park offering customers MOT’s as well as tyres, brakes and exhausts. So, an alternative to Rumblingwell and Inverkeithing but nevertheless employing the same purchasing plan and friendly approach that was to see a swift, loyal, customer base built up.

Then followed garages in Perth, Crossford, Stirling, Livingston, Glenrothes and newest a second garage in Stirling opening in December 2011. With the exception of the Crossford garage all D&G Autocare garages are MOT Stations. D&G Autocare has been in business for eight years and now operates from nine garages across the Central, West Lothian, Fife, Perth and Kinross Regions of Scotland.

David and George recognise that the way to keep winning customers is to have the right combination of people, training and services on offer at each of their garages. And to provide the best customer service and straight forward pricing – Fast, Friendly and Fair that’s D&G Autocare.
