This Post Office is so important to the Bengeworth community.Think- last years floods, they were open and available to all in the area when Eveshams main office was simply not accessible, what will happen next time the floods come if this facility is closed.
But more importantly- many of our older residents are on this side of the river, and have been served well by Pearl and her staff for decades.These older people simply cannot walk up the hill to the High Street, and back up the hill of Port street.
There is no bus service from Bengeworth to Evesham- so whilst this will be good news for Taxi firms it will take more money from the small pensions of our senior residents- who will then be more likely to spend it at the High Street end of town,this in turn will affect the economy of the Bengeworth area.
Proposals for even more housing in this area make the decision even more ridiculous.
What can you do ??
You can and must object to this proposal, and Pearl assures me that every letter written directly carries as much weight as100 names on a petition, so get writing;
I suggest you write one letter, copy it 8 times and send it to the following;
