A GLASS of sherry plus glass of wine daily is the secret to a long and healthy life, according to a Mrs Huxley who has just celebrated her centenary in Evesham.

Win Huxley of Yates Court, Evesham, was born in Lydbrook, Forest of Dean, on December 14, 1909 and trained as a teacher in 1931, before marrying in 1939 and moving to Evesham.  I Remember her as a strict but fair teacher during my junior school days at Merstow Green School, this is now flats of course !

Mrs Huxley celebrated her 100th birthday with a family meal at the Dormy House Hotel , Broadway and a tea party the next day with friends and residents at Yates Court on Evesham High Street.

Good Luck Mrs H- I still remember you !.
