A new general goods store in a prominent position on Evesham’s Riverside Centre is to be officially opened on Thursday 19th November ready for the Christmas trading period.

The new High Street store chain Alworths will be opened at 10am. The store will be in the former Woolworths store which has remained closed since December last year when the well known major retailer went into administration.

The Alworths chain is the brain child of Andy Latham, who was head of store and concessions development for Woolworths, he has a team of 15 ex-Woolworths colleagues. Many of the new Alworths stores will be in former Woolworths sites across the UK.

The Alworths stores will sell many products similar to ranges that once were sold by Woolworths. There will also be a selection of  big branded goods, with competitive prices, as well as weekly promotions.

This new arrival in Evesham will hopefully help the other retailers in the town by bringing some focus back to the Bridge St area. Vecta welcomes their arrival as any new store will bring new interest and help the shopping experience in Evesham as a whole.
