HELP TO PROVIDE WEEKLY NEWS TO THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Located in Weybridge, a talking newspaper for the visually impaired and those who have difficulty in reading are looking for a volunteer to join them as a tape copier.  The role would involve copying from a master tape and putting the copies into mailing bags for the Post Office to collect.  The role would suit a young adult with IT skills and knowledge of tape recording.  This is a part-time commitment for Friday mornings only.  ELM 482

ASSIST IN RUNNING A LOCAL KIDS ACTIVITY GROUP

Are you interested in working with young children?  A local scout group is looking for a volunteer Assistant Cub Scout Leader aged between 18 and 25.  The role involves running meetings and planning activities for children between the ages of 8 and 10 years old.  This role is for Wednesday evenings only.  ELM 191

ARE YOU READY TO RUMMAGE AND ORGANISE?

A local children’s centre concerned with assisting families with children under 5 requires a volunteer to undertake sorting through donations and to fold and put away clothes into their clothing unit in age order.  This role would suit somebody with good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a small friendly team.  This is a time flexible weekday commitment (between 8 – 10 hours per month).  A car driver with a clean license is desirable but not essential.  ELM 1425

ARE YOU A GOOD LISTENER?

Are you interested in being a helpline volunteer for domestic abuse victims?  You would need to be calm under pressure, friendly and sympathetic with the ability to listen and assist people without becoming emotionally involved.  This role is home based and a mobile phone will be provided.  Some administrative and organisational tasks would need to be undertaken.  This is a part-time commitment over weekday evenings (5pm-9am) and weekends (9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm or 5pm-9am).  ELM 1326

MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THE ELDERLY

Would you like to assist the elderly to make a genuine difference to their lives?  As an advocate you would enable people to say what they think, make informed choices and say what they want to happen.  No experience is required as training will be provided.  This is a part-time commitment for weekdays (days and evenings).  ELM 1404
