This scheme is looking for volunteers to support young people in police custody in Surrey. These young people have no parent or relative available. As a volunteer you would look after the detained person’s welfare, protect their rights, assist with reading & writing if required and explain police procedures.

No previous experience is needed. However you would need to be confident, patient, tenacious, have a high level of integrity & have good judgement skills when under pressure. Training & support provided.
