Those with a ‘head for heights’ who want to make 2012, the year to do something new and exciting can join fellow Princess Alice Hospice supporters and mascot ‘Alice the Bear’ as the charity return to Epsom racecourse for its second abseil!

Saturday 24 March will see the beautiful Epsom Downs home to the legendary racecourse welcome participants who will scale the 90ft Queen’s Stand structure. The balconies and unusual shape of the building make for an exhilarating and fun challenge.

Entry for the event is £20 with a minimum sponsorship requirement of £100, many of last years participants raised substantially more. The community fundraising team are happy to provide ideas and advice to help your fundraising efforts.

Last year’s event saw 41 people both young and old taking part. With father and son teams, large company groups, friends and volunteers taking part and pledging over £11,000. Princess Alice Hospice is grateful to all participants for their courage and generosity and is hoping that they can more than double numbers to 90 participants at this year’s event.

Chris Crooker, Events Fundraiser said:

‘We are very happy with the success of our first abseil and we are looking forward to our second abseil. It is great to have the continued support of the community and we will continue to create and host new and innovative events to appeal to as many people as we possibly can. With £5.47 million needed each year from the community it is important that everyone do what they can to support us and enable us to provide care in Surrey, south west London and Middlesex’.
