The Sunnybank Trust get cash boost from Sainsbury’s in Ewell #sunnybanktrust #learningdisability

Sainsbury’s Local in Ewell has raised £175.00 in aid of Epsom’s leading local disability charity The Sunnybank Trust.  The cheque was presented to members of the charity including the Chairman Tom Rhind-Tutt MBE in front of staff and customers on Wednesday 13th March. 

The charity’s Chairman said of the donation; "The support of Sainsbury’s Local is tremendous news at a time when we face significant funding challenges.   Through the support of the local community we will continue to provide the much needed services to the most vulnerable in our community.” 

Manager of Sainsbury’s Local, Darren Courtney said; “The issues that face our local community are important to Sainsbury’s, and we will support charities such as Sunnybank in any way we can”.

Information: The Sunnybank Trust is based in Epsom and helps people with learning disabilities live fuller lives and enable them to have more control over decisions that affect them. The charity provides -

  • A bespoke friends programme that provides volunteer “friends” to those who are often socially isolated
  • An advocacy programme – taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights to protect their interests and obtain the services they need.
  • A weekly social club that provides choice, new skills and the chance to meet up with old and new friends
