Friends of Stoneleigh Library

Following the decision by Surrey County Council to remove its professional librarians – many libraries in the area – including Stoneleigh – Ewell Court and Tattenhams – may only be able to remain open if volunteers are found to take over their running.

Mrs Diana Kay – chairwoman of the Friends of Stoneleigh Library – and a group of around 20 supporters are rallying local people to support their cause and volunteer.

They are not asking for a lot of time – maybe 3 hours or so every couple of weeks, and they hope to get around 80 people involved.

Here we are reading this on the internet – but there are still a lot of people who rely on books – and many who prefer them to the electronic screen.

The friends are holding an information meeting on:

                Tuesday 15th November

                Stoneleigh Baptist Church

                The Glade

                Stoneleigh  KT17 2HL
