Reigate & Banstead Borough Council who organise the annual variety extravaganza Star for a Night, are calling on young entertainers – singers, dancers, actors and comedians – to start practicing their skills in time for the show’s auditions.

The auditions take place at the Harlequin Theatre and are open to 11 to 18 year olds who live or go to school in the borough:

  • Saturday 21 January, 12.30pm to 3.30pm
  • Sunday 22 January, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Those performers who successfully make it through the auditions will receive professional coaching before taking to the stage in April 2012.

Councillor Adam De Save, Executive Member for Leisure and Wellbeing, said:

“Our Star for a Night show offers young people a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, work together, build confidence and develop skills.

“We want as many young people as possible to come along to the auditions. Those who attend have a good chance of being in the show, so I would urge you to give it a go. Also this year our sponsors have been exceptionally kind in supporting this fun event.”

The show is being generously sponsored by Toyota (GB) PLC, Towers Watson and So You Wanna Be theatre school.
