See #Banstead High Street in a new Light

The council will be replacing the lamp posts in Banstead High Street in the future – in line with energy saving measures. This means the Millennium Lighting erected in 1999 will be removed.

2012, with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the Olympics is fast approaching, and the Banstead  local traders and BVRA propose to illuminate the High Street with new festive lighting – and these can remain in place for future Christmases and special day celebrations.

Unfortunately, there are no funds available from the council at present towards the replacement costs, so a fund raising process has been put in place. This will allow the traders and businesses in Banstead – together with the local community to make contributions.

The committee of the Banstead Festive Lights are keen to make this a success and hope that you – like we – would not wish to see a dark and un-festive High Street.

Contributions can be made in various shops in the High Street – or through Banstead Festive Lights based at J T Snuggs Jewellers,   High Street(opposite Wilmot Way).
