Round the Borough Bike 2014 pedals away to a great start!
A total of 92 participants took part in the launch event of Round the Borough Bike on Sunday 18 May. A free event for the whole family saw cyclists of all ages and abilities join in for a chance to explore and discover Epsom & Ewell by bike.
Round the Borough Bike which took place for the first time this year, follows a long distance route of approximately 20 miles across some of the Borough’s beautiful open spaces including Epsom Downs, Epsom Common Local Nature Reserve, Nonsuch Park, the Hogsmill Local Nature Reserve and Horton Country Park Local Nature Reserve.

Councillor Jan Mason, Chairman of the Leisure Committee said, “We have had a great response to the launch of Round the Borough Bike. There were cyclists of all ages from 5 years to 77 years; families; groups of young people, ladies, men; solo riders and even a dog! Well done to everyone who took part and made this a memorable event.
“The route follows some of the Borough’s stunning locations and is a fantastic opportunity to discover Epsom & Ewell’s hidden gems.”
The next event, Round the Borough Hike (previously known as Round the Borough Walk) takes places on Saturday 6 September follows exactly the same route. Registration for this free event is already open, for more information and to register visit www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk/roundtheboroughhikeandbike
Both Round the Borough Hike and Bike events build on the Olympic legacy and the success of last year's Tour of Britain Stage 7 which started in Epsom.
