Commissioned by Go Epsom, the Business Improvement District, the artworks are a visual representation of the very best of Epsom and have been designed by British Artist Eliza Southwood..
Reminiscent of iconic travel posters from the 1920’s, the artwork depicts the interesting history and heritage of the area. From racing, to the open spaces, the market place and clock tower, the spa era, and of course its connections to the suffragette movement.
Karen Pengelly, BID Manager at Go Epsom said “We are so happy with Eliza’s work, she has captured Epsom beautifully, it’s a lovely town with a really interesting history. Eliza is telling a visual story about Epsom, a reminder of the town’s notoriety as one of the first spa towns and leisure destinations, it links to famous events in history and its heritage. As rail passenger numbers increase from June onwards, these artworks will be an absolute treat for travellers.”
