Local Independent store Toy Barnhaus which has a retail unit in The Ashley Centre, has won an award at the National Toy Retailer Awards for the second year running. Up against stores from across the UK, they won in the “Best Independent Retailer” category.

Owner Mark Buschhaus said “It was a great honour to win it, and especially for the second year running. We would like to thank all our customers for their support, and to everyone in the toy trade who nominated us.”

Phil Ratcliffe, Chairman of the British Toy & Hobby Association said: “On behalf of the BTHA I would like to congratulate all the winners of this year’s Toy Retailer Awards. It was pleasing to see an increase in entries this year, especially from the independent sector and UK department stores. The judges deliberated long and hard to find this year’s winners because of the very high standard of entries received. Congratulations must also go to our worthy runners-up who, it should still be remembered, were the best in their categories, and our sincere thanks to everyone for their participation.”
