Dear constituent

I am writing with some information about upcoming events and other local matters

Local Fairs

Firstly my apology for missing out the month for Ewell Village Fair in my last update. The Fair is on Saturday July 15th. Fingers crossed for a sunny day.

There is also an Eco Fair at St Martin’s Church in Epsom from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 1st July 2023.  There will be a range of volunteer and Council stalls,
children's activities and food. I went last year and it is a good event, with a lot of good local initiatives, particularly on protecting nature.

Ashtead Consultation - proposal for a new all weather football pitch

There has been a lively debate in Ashtead about the proposal by the Football Club to build a new all weather pitch on the Ashtead recreation ground. Mole Valley Council is now consulting on whether to give this the go ahead, and residents have until 31st July to respond.

If you want to take part in the consultation, this is the link to do so.

Surrey Stands with Ukraine

The Epsom based team supporting Ukraine has asked me to give you an update and reminder about what they are doing.

Surrey Stands with Ukraine (SSWU) is an Epsom based charity. 100% of money raised goes towards life-saving supplies for the people of Ukraine, as well as covering transport costs to get these items into the hands of the people who need it most. They are currently prioritising the collection funds to purchase electric generators and asking for tinned food, particularly meat and fish, to be left at our Stand in the Ashley Centre. To date they have sent over 75 truck loads of aid direct to those in need in Ukraine.

There are more details of their work and how to support them at

If you are looking to install solar panels on your home, Surrey has just reopened its programme which allows people to get a cheaper price by being part of a county wide scheme. Details are at www.solartogether.co.uk/surrey

If you are a theatre goer, there is a new, temporary outdoor theatre operating in Epsom this summer. It is performing Annie Get Your Gun. Details are at https://lavendertheatre.com/
