Dear constituent

I am writing to you with another update about the Coronavirus pandemic and some other local issues.

Coronavirus restrictions

Firstly, as you will probably be aware, the Prime Minister has taken a decision to extend the remaining restrictions until the end of the 18th July.

A summary of the current rules is here.

Wedding and civil partnership ceremonies

There are two exceptions to this. The first is that the limit of 30 people allowed to attend a wedding has been removed, though a number of conditions remain.

Full details of this can be found here

Care home residents

In addition care home residents are now allowed to spend a night away from their homes without having to isolate on their return.

Details are here.

Surrey COVID-19 cases and rates

The recent increase in cases in Surrey has mostly affected younger people who are yet to be vaccinated and those who have only had a single jab. This does underline how important it is that people who are still unvaccinated or who have yet to book in for their second jab and are eligible to do so book an appointment now. You can do so via the NHS website.

Chalk Pit Site

I know many people remain extremely concerned about the noise and dust nuisance coming from the Chalk Pit in College Road, Epsom at the moment. I have been working with local residents on the issue and pushing the Environment Agency to act. I have had several meetings with the Agency and they have been working through a formal process which I hope will reach a resolution in the next few days. Please keep updating me if you experience serious noise or dust from the site.

Epsom & Ewell Citizens Advice

The Epsom and Ewell Citizens Advice team have asked me to remind people that if they are having difficulties as a result of the pandemic or some other issue, they are often able to help.

This is their latest leaflet with details and contacts.

I very much hope that we can move on from the pandemic very soon and everyone will be able to enjoy the rest of the summer. As always, if you have questions or issues please feel free to email me, though please use my Parliamentary address as this message comes from a no reply service.

Best wishes

Chris Grayling
