When you do your shopping this week please keep in mind the Foodbank – helping people in times of crisis
The Foodbank provides local people with necessities, not luxuries. It allows people to collect the basic necessities they need to live.
The bad weather does make things slightly trickier as we are unable to use the outside space for sorting, weighing food etc.
The heavy rain has also made for a good few bedraggled delivery teams. I’m happy to say that everyone is still smiling and soldiering on.
This week, to date, Tuesday has been our busiest day with 24 deliveries feeding 77 people. I anticipate that tomorrow will be busier .
As previously mentioned we do have a very good stock of many of the basic items so if possible please donate only the items on the following list -
URGENT
Shampoo
Female deodorant
Pump hand soap
Biscuits
Breakfast cereal
LOW STOCK
Adult toothpaste
Adult toothbrushes - singles if possible
Shaving foam
Washing up liquid
Washing powder/capsules/liquid
Hair conditioner
Bars of soap
Cleaning products - bleach, anti bac sprays etc
Custard
Sugar - small bags if possible
Cooking sauces
Long life fruit juice
Tinned sweet corn - never thought we’d be asking for this again
Long life sponge puddings
Children’s treats - chocolate etc.
The majority of supermarkets still have collection bins which we empty on a regular basis. Alternatively food can be dropped off at our warehouse in Ruxley,Lane Ewell. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm for dropping donations , except Thursday when last time for donations is 2pm. Please note that we do not open on Bank Holidays.
