Through Action Surrey, residents can benefit from accessing a network of trusted, local and experienced installers who can install insulation, replace boilers and are experts in solar and other microgeneration technology. By asking a series of simple questions about household and personal circumstances, Action Surrey can assess whether residents qualify for any grants or other finance that may be available to help with the costs of installing energy improvements. Over the last three years Action Surrey has received over 1093 enquiries from local residents; installed 42 boilers; 25 cavity wall installations; 43 loft installations and 22 solid wall installations,

Councillor Eber Kington, Chairman of the Council’s Strategy & Resources Committee, said “The provision of energy efficiency measures such as loft and cavity wall insulation and efficient boilers along with advice on staying healthy and keeping warm in the winter months play a key role in improving the quality of life of all residents, but particularly the most vulnerable in our community”

Lynn Rochester from Epsom had cavity wall insulation fitted through Action Surrey’s installer network. Commenting on the scheme she said: “Thanks to Action Surrey my installer was fantastic, I couldn’t fault him.  My home is noticeably warmer and I would definitely recommend them”

Under the relationship, this Council along with other Councils across Surrey, highlights Action Surrey’s activities and provides a financial contribution to their running costs. The Council has a statutory duty to promote Home Energy Conservation under the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995.
