Close Up Magic Astonishes Epsom
Close Up Magic shows at the Epsom Playhouse have now become popular favourite in the theatre’s calendar and magician Chris Wood took to the streets to astonish shopper’s in Epsom’s The Ashley Centre recently.
Chris is a member of the Inner Magic Circle and has hosted and performed the Close Up Magic shows since they started at the Epsom Playhouse last September. He said: “A variety of magicians have joined me to perform close-up magic, trickery and sleight of hand held in the intimate surroundings of the Myers Studio and we are looking forward to performing again on Saturday 24 May. Many audience members have taken part themselves and helped the magicians with a trick or two!”
Close Up Magic is one of the most popular and impressive forms of the art and this unique event showcases some of the best exponents direct from the sell out shows at The Magic Circle.
The format is informal with three tables and a limited audience so they can be as close to the magic as possible. Magicians of contrasting styles perform a 25 minute set for each group in turn, typically with cards, coins and borrowed objects. There is a 30 minute interval to help the audience catch their breath before the show resumes.
Tickets are on sale now priced £16.50 and are available from www.epsomplayhouse.co.uk or by ringing the Box Office on 01372 742555. You can also find us on facebook: epsom.playhouse or follow us on Twitter.
