The government has confirmed that the bulk of children in care duties removed during lockdown will be restored later this month. Only a small number of changes will remain in place until March 2021 with the majority to be restored at the end of the month as planned.
Many of the amendments were opposed by numerous children’s charities and even the Children’s Commissioner for England because they claimed this would reduce the safety for children in care.
