From midnight tonight 30th April 2014 – the £50 note with Houldon picture on it – will no longer have the status of legal tender .
The new note with Boulton & Watt pictures was introduced in November 2011 – so hopefully not too many of the old ones out there.
If you have the old ones – all is not lost as certain banks will change them up to October.
