Caroline Hayton from Asda Burgh Heath presented a cheque for £1000 to Imogen Harte-Jones 12 & Tierney Higgins 7 of Banstead Girl Guides.
The Banstead Guide Association is closing the gap on its fundraising for a new headquarters with a donation from Asda Burgh Heath.
Colleagues at the Reigate Road store have donated £1,000 towards the building of new premises on the site which is currently used as the District Headquarters for six Girl Guide units as well as a day nursery.
The new building will replace the old, prefabricated Guide Hut which has been on the site for more than 40 years and is in need of repair.
Caroline Hayton, community life champion at Asda in Burgh Heath said:
“As part of Asda’s Community Life scheme, which launched this year, we want to help support projects, charities and organisations that make a difference to the area and improve life for the residents in it.
“The Banstead District Girl Guides are in desperate need of a new building which will hopefully be used by all the community when it opens. It would be a terrible shame for the Guides to not reach their target so we want everyone to dig deep and help support such a worthy campaign.”
