The evening started with a lovely surprise! Valet parking – making us all feel rather special.
Nigel opened the meeting, welcoming the attendees and thanking Mercedes-Benz Epsom for their generous hosting of the event. He also advised that Epsom now has a Town Centre Manager – Adam Worley.
Nigel then introduced Chris Keegan who has joined thebestof Epsom & Ewell team as Business Development Manager.
Martin Buhagiar, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Epsom, was introduced and gave us a very warm welcome to the showroom and his staff.
In the showroom – we mingled amongst some seriously exciting cars, and – an electric smart car – which caused a lot of interest.
We were welcome to sit-in the cars and several people have great shots of them doing just that – we even had one car started – and listened to the roar of the engine.
Steven McGregor of Chalk Lane Hotel had transported his staff and wonderful canapés to the new location so we certainly did not miss out with the change of venue.
In our Charity Spotlight – Jonathan Lees from The Epsom Food Bank told about the real hardships some people face when tragedy strikes, and explained the Food Bank’s role in helping during short-term crises.
Our networking groups for the evening were gathered around vehicles – and the showroom was buzzing with business talk – and admiration for the beautiful vehicles.
Our three member spotlights were presented by:
Dan Church from TWM Solicitors – Epsom, told us about the TWM group and the family law services offered at the Epsom branch.
Dave Weller of Venti Venti spoke about the importance of a quality website and the bespoke work they undertake.
And finally, Lee Illingworth of Pip’s Event Catering – talked about the famous ‘Hog Roast’ and the other catering products his company supply.

Throughout the evening Gill Alexander of Barrett & Coe captured some great moments, and used the viewing balcony of the showroom to get some excellent pictures.

Dates have now been confirmed with The Ashley Centre Epsom for quarterly Buy Local Weeks to allow businesses to showcase their products and services to the community. The success of these weeks was emphasised by Dan Church from TWM Solicitors, who confirmed that although their office is in the heart of Epsom (above Boots) most people did not know they we there.
