Living space for children with brain injury and neurodisability has been transformed thanks to a £44,000 donation from The Kingswood Arms Golf Society and donations from generous supporters of The Children’s Trust.
Stars such as Elaine Paige, Marc Almond and Suzi Quatro have put their names to The Extraordinary Music Box Appeal, a campaign by The Children’s Trust based in Tadworth in Surrey, to highlight the importance of music to children having rehabilitation following a brain injury.
The Children’s Trust was honoured with a top award at the prestigious BMA Patient Information Awards this week (25 September). The charity, which supports children with brain injury across the UK, had two of its resources, a short film and a handbook, recognised as exceptional and powerful information sources at the ceremony which took place at BMA House, London.
The Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act 2018 was given royal assent on 13 September 2018 and is expected to come into force in April 2020 and addresses the need for paid leave for working bereaved parents.
The Trust Board has decided that a part of the land, including Rowan House, the red-brick building at the back of the site, and a section of the site adjoining it, are no longer needed.
