Epsom Rotary Club have been very busy – gardening!
The Club has been involved in a joint allotment project, providing beautiful organically grown food free to the Local Food Pantry. In this very changing and difficult times, there are more and more people turning for help and we consider this to be an ongoing worthwhile and extremely valuable project, also providing opportunity for members of the community to get involved, which indeed has been the case.
Tarlika Patel from Chipstead, who helped set up, and now manages, the Macmillan Butterfly Centre at Epsom, and the Cancer Information and Support Centre at St Helier hospitals, has witnessed significant changes in cancer treatment during her tenure, as well as directly helping countless cancer patients in the area.
The old H&M unit opposite Boots in the Ashley Centre has been set up as a collection centre for Ukraine and opened yesterday Monday 7 March and the local community showed up with massive hearts donating £4,788 plus hundreds of items on the first day.
