On arrival, we were given a seafront room overlooking the pier on the first floor, which was clean & spacious.
Check in was easy & the staff were polite & informative. We were there for the air show so the town was very busy but they told us places we could park within a short walk from the hotel. You can buy a parking voucher for £2 per day which is very useful.

Great value hotel right by the sea. We really enjoyed our stay at the Afton Hotel. The team were great and helped us out very generously with whatever we wanted. The location is absolutely superb, with views of the pier and sea. The rooms have period charm and are kept in good condition. Overall, a great stay - thank you! One thing that perhaps should be made clearer is that the only medium-term (i.e. more than two hours) parking at the hotel is the multi-storey car park five minutes' walk away.

Our stay was enjoyable although the weather was so hot wheelchair travel was very warm and strenuous The hotel was comfortable and clean, staff were courteous and helpful we didn’t eat in the hotel overall
a pleasant stay.
The hotel showed disabled access, this only applied inside the premises the outside was accessible only
by steps at either entrance. This meant my wife getting out of the wheelchair to climb the steps which was
difficult and embarrassing for her. Inside the hotel the access to the room was very narrow meaning once again my wife had to get out of the wheelchair to go into the room. Our room could have done with the provision of at least a decent fan as the room was extremely hot from early morning to late evening.

Comfortable, reasonably priced. I return here frequently when in town. Generally very comfortable room, for a decent price. Friendly and responsive staff. No WiFi available in the rooms, unless you're on the first floor, where you might be able to get the free wifi from the ground floor public areas.

Pleasant, local to just about everything, ideal city break or stopover. The room was pretty small, but we only stayed for one night so not a problem, it had a wardrobe, dressing table and a large opening window onto a balcony with a sea view, very nice. Friendly staff, overall the place was clean and well maintained. Lack of parking, street parking, only two hours at a time, constantly having to move, and pay to park the car. typical town or city these days really i suppose.

Great Hotel Second time I've stayed at the Afton. Staff are always friendly. Room is always clean, and the facilities on the ground floor look very inviting.
I will definitely be staying again in the future.
The situation of the hotel is fantastic. Right in front of the pier, and only a short walk into town.
