This is a very nice, old-worldly hotel with modern services at the best spot in Eastbourne: the promenade. The view is fantastic and you only have to cross the road for a stroll along the beach or a swim.
Our room was large but sparsely furnished: all the basics but good quality.
The breakfast was excellent, there’s a bar where you can take away a drink up to your room or sit down to enjoy your drink as well as the view.
The staff are helpful and there’s a large carpark right behind the hotel.

If you're looking for a hotel with a bit of character, lots of history and perfect location, then this is the hotel for you.
The staff go above and beyond ( Jack, you are a true credit to the hotel!) to make you feel welcome and accommodate your needs.
There is no denying the hotel is showing it's age in places but this only adds to its charm. Given it's fascinating history and location this hotel is great value for money and we will come back again!

In October 2023, Graham Stewart said about Towner Eastbourne
Went for the Turner Prize show which was free entry. Enjoyed Jesse Darling's sculptures and Barbara Walker's drawings the most. There is also a great room with wonderful Eric Ravilious originals of local landscapes and a large Grayson Perry picture. Outside the gallery has been painted in beautiful geometric colours and there is a very moving piece by Michael Rakowitzâ a glorious winged bull. Well worth a visit

We went here for breakfast today. Absolutely amazing, the food was lovely and hot, tasty and served with a good mug of coffee. Made to feel welcome by lovely staff. Will definitely be back very soon.

English Heritage have done well to help describe and imagine the history of what is left of this ancient castle by means of an audio tour. I live locally and had no idea that it was used during WW2.Visited on
