Very interesting history and beautiful gardens- and we loved the little Folly, with its garden. Nice café as well. Well worth the entrance price.

A very pleasant couple of hours walking around the gardens in beautiful weather. It was just a Shane the castle was partially covered in scaffolding.

Love this place. The gardens are lovely and good walks surrounding the castle. Amazing to see the domes of the science centre as you approach the castle. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful picturesque castle.Grounds and walled gardens were stunning.Curious sheep, noisy geese on the moat., peacocks in the garden. The cafe serves lovely cakes and pots of tea....not just tea bags in mugs of hot water. Shop was impressive as well...some unusual things. Castle is a lovely building but used as a school so you can only see inside on limited days of the year.Very reasonably priced.

Nice gardens. Small but with nearby fields down to a folly. Was closed when we were there, though much of it is a Canadian Uni now. Visit can tie in with festival at nearby famous observatory if that still runs.
